Saturday, wow spring finally arrived and I couldn’t be more pleased for Melissa and Danny! I started their day at St John’s Church in Midsomer Norton where Danny and their dog Murf greeted guests and awaited the lady in their life. As Melissa arrived at the alter not only Danny was pleased to see her but Murf couldn’t help but get excited to see her. He soon settled as the couple made their vows to each other; keeping an eye on me as I discreetly moved around the church. After we headed out into the spring sunshine for confetti and then drove to the beautiful Coombe Lodge in Blagdon.
The weather as been so awful so far this year, I had actually forgotten what its like to shoot in sunshine! Light is a photographers best friend so it was wonderful to have it back and see all the guests enjoy it and sit out in the warmth of the sun. After a little walk around the grounds with the newly weds we took some group shots before heading in for dinner. At meetings before the wedding I had gathered from Melissa and Danny that they have a truly great group of friends, so I was very much looking forward to the speeches and in particular the best men, Jamie and Aaron and they didn’t disappoint! It created some brilliant laughs and the slideshow at the end was brilliant.
As the sunset on what was the perfect day the couple, family and friends hit the dance floor; showing me some great moves! I had such a great day celebrating with everyone and the new Mr and Mrs Rugg are some of the loveliest people; after 9 years together I wish you both so much happiness and all the best for the rest of your lives together.
