I was absolutely thrilled to hear from Lorraine when she emailed saying she was engaged; she had thought of me first for her wedding and after I had taken some family photos of her and Darren a few years earlier. Now you can’t beat that kind of email! So Wednesday I went to Bristol to capture their day on board the SS Great Britain; a wonderful venue I love to work at! The whole day had been planned with as fewer formalities as possible but it didn’t stop the excitement and nerves kicking in. Darren was quietly awaiting his bride; who looked stunning as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her Mum Beth. A few tears were shed during the ceremony as well as the odd mistake of wording; but I always love that as it breaks the tension and gets everyone laughing. After we headed up to the deck for Gin and canapes before I took the couple for a little walk for some photographs of the two of them. Speeches were skipped and after dinner it was time to hit the dance floor for the fabulous Ceilidh provided by the lovely Bowreed Ceilidh Band.
I always love weddings that are a little different and keep the formalities short or even missed, it makes the day more unique to the couple and I find that guests seem to relax and let their hair down more; this day was no exception! A massive thanks to the new Mr and Mrs Murtagh for allowing me to share in their wonderful day.
