I was so excited to return to Dillington House on Wednesday for a very special day! Emma and Alfy got married in Singapore last month and returned to the UK for their second celebration this week. I would say with friends from England however there were friends and family from all over the world; Australia and France to name a few. As legally the couple are already married this meant the day could truly be theirs! The ceremony took place outside in front of the Orangery; with personal readings in English and French and with Alfy’s sister singing as well, it was so wonderful and unique to the newlyweds. After everyone enjoyed drinks on the lawns before heading in for dinner and the speeches; even these took a turn away from tradition when Emma lead the whole wedding party in singing Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody… brilliant! This lot needed no encouragement! Later everyone enjoyed the gardens and lawn games while Alfy and his band played to the guests. . . Emma even snuck in another Queen remix! It turned into a mini festival as guests danced and drank and it seemed only right to have the first dance outside as well! They had a beautiful French song sung by Emma’s friend; I had no idea on the lyrics however in French it sounded even more romantic and had a few guests in tears as well as the groom.
A truly brilliant day; I just love when couples do their own thing and I think you can see from the photographs that this made for a day full of fun and laughter. A huge thank you to the couple for some great laughs and tears; it was a roller coaster of emotions for me as well! For now here are just a few of an epic day!
