It feels like forever since I’ve been at the stunning Coombe Lodge (its only been 3 months) but I was so excited to return for Emma and Alex’s wedding. I met them and their families a few months ago at the venue so I knew what a lovely bunch they were and what an incredible day it was going to be! On arrival Emma was upstairs getting ready with the bridesmaids, emotions were running a little high and for someone who doesn’t like the ‘limelight’ at points it got a little overwhelming. Once dressed her Dad Pascal came in and sure enough it brought everyone to tears (including the pregnant photographer!) Downstairs all the guests had gathered for their outside ceremony in the heat and Alex nervously awaited the arrival of his gorgeous bride. The ceremony was wonderfully personal with one reading being more of a speech about the couple; which I loved! After guests huddled in the shade while drinks and canapes were served. Before we knew it, dinner was being served in the dining room which looked incredible thanks to the Wilde Bunch Florist.
After dinner speeches took place and poor Alex not only had his best man Sam take him to pieces but also most of his Ushers as well! After, everyone returned to the gardens for the beautiful evening sun. Coombe Lodge always delivers here as it has the perfect spot looking across Somerset as the sun sets. I could feel by this time as darkness fell everyone wanted to hit the floor and party the night away and they didn’t disappoint me as everyone hit the dance floor after the cutting of the cake.
