A Wedding Photography Workshop

Hello, and welcome,
This is my very first wedding photography workshop, and I’m so glad you’re here.
This day is about photographing weddings with more confidence, intention and ease. It’s about letting go of second-guessing and stepping into a way of shooting that feels natural, grounded and truly you.
If you’ve ever wished your couples felt more relaxed in front of your camera, if you want to direct with confidence rather than hesitation and if you’re drawn to images that feel effortless yet deeply connected, then you’re in exactly the right place.
What we’ll cover here goes far beyond posing. This wedding photography workshop is about how you show up on a wedding day, how you guide, how you connect, and how that quietly transforms both your images and your experience as a photographer. When those pieces click into place, everything shifts.
"Jodie is friendly, knowledgeable and has the most calming presence making even the most camera shy people feel at ease"

What to Expect
This workshop is designed for wedding photographers who care deeply about their couples and want to refine both their craft and their presence on a wedding day.
We’ll focus on building genuine connection with couples and learning how to gently guide them through portraits in a way that feels natural and unforced. We’ll also talk about the role you play beyond the camera, how couples and guests often look to you for reassurance, direction and calm, and how to step into that role with ease.
Because being a wedding photographer isn’t just about the images you deliver. It’s about the experience you create and how your couples remember feeling on one of the most important days of their lives.
Whether you’re newer to the industry or a few years in and ready to refine and elevate what you do, this workshop is about helping you step into your next level.
With over 15 years of experience photographing weddings, I’ll be sharing the practical advice, insight and small details that make a big difference, the things that allow you to consistently create beautiful work while feeling calm, confident and in control.

Special Guest
Marketing Support for the Business Side of Weddings
Alongside the photography, I’m so pleased to be joined by Marketing Pro and Wedding Business Mentor, Ange Wakeling.
Ange will be hosting a dedicated session as part of the wedding photography workshop, focused on the part of the job we don’t always get taught, how to attract the right couples, increase enquiries and build a wedding photography business that books consistently into 2026 and beyond.
This is your chance to ask the questions you’ve been sitting on. Whether you’re stuck with visibility, pricing, confidence in your offers, or simply want clearer direction with your marketing, Ange will be there to offer practical, honest guidance tailored to where you’re at right now.
Between the two of us, you’ll be supported both creatively and strategically, so you leave not only inspired, but with real clarity on how to move forward.
Shooting Together
We’ll shoot together across two live sessions during this wedding photography workshop, working with a model couple.
I’ll demonstrate how I begin a portrait session, how I interact with couples, how I guide them through movement and posing and how I read the energy in front of me to keep things relaxed and natural.
You’ll leave with clear, usable tools; helping couples feel at ease, building quick connections and creating authentic, timeless images that feel effortless rather than overworked.
This workshop is about strengthening your presence on a wedding day, communicating with confidence, and trusting your ability to lead while staying true to your own style.
Alongside elevated content for your portfolio, you’ll walk away with renewed confidence and a clear approach you can return to again and again.

Location
I’ve chosen one of my favourite venues for this wedding photography workshop, the beautiful Coombe Lodge in Blagdon, Somerset.
This elegant 1920s Bath stone manor house, set within the rolling Mendip Hills, offers timeless interiors and stunning grounds. It’s the perfect setting to create refined, versatile imagery that will elevate your portfolio.
We’ll be shooting both outdoors across the grounds and indoors, including the dining room and bridal suite.

Models & Styling
Our models for the day are Jessica and Connor, a real couple I’ve photographed many times.
They are effortlessly elegant, deeply connected and incredibly expressive in front of the camera. Jessica will be styled in a timeless A-line gown, while Connor will wear a classic, on-trend tuxedo.
Their natural chemistry makes them ideal for demonstrating connection, movement and emotional storytelling. I adore working with them and know they’ll bring exactly the right energy to the day.
